At Panamar Ko Ranao, our story is one of profound resilience, community empowerment, and a deep-rooted commitment to sustainable growth, all blossoming from the heart of Lanao del Sur. We are more than just a cooperative; we are a beacon of hope and a testament to collective strength, dedicated to transforming lives and fostering economic prosperity in the communities we serve.
Our Story: Forged in Resilience, Rooted in Community
Panamar Ko Ranao Marketing Cooperative was established on October 15, 2017, emerging from the challenges faced by communities following the Siege of Marawi City. Recognizing the urgent need for sustainable economic growth and new income opportunities, our cooperative was founded on the firm belief that true progress flourishes when rooted in community empowerment and sustainable development. Initially, we focused on reselling local products, laying the groundwork for the income-generating activities that would follow. Our journey is a powerful narrative of turning adversity into opportunity, inviting everyone to be a part of this unfolding story.
Our Mission & Vision: Guiding Our Path Forward
Our mission and vision serve as the guiding stars that illuminate our path toward a prosperous and sustainable future.
- Our Mission: To empower local communities by creating sustainable livelihoods through the production and marketing of high-quality, eco-friendly coconut products. We are steadfast in our dedication to supporting local farmers and artisans, promoting fair trade, advocating for sustainable practices, and delivering premium goods that enhance consumer health and well-being.
- Our Vision: We envision becoming a leading cooperative in the Philippines, renowned for our unwavering commitment to sustainability, innovation, and community development. Through the holistic utilization of local resources, we aim to drive long-term economic growth for our cherished members and expand our eco-friendly products across both local and national markets.
Our Guiding Philosophy and Principles: Empowering Through Integrity
Our cooperative is built upon a profound philosophy: “Empowering communities through sustainability, resilience, and integrity”. This isn’t just a statement; it’s the very operational framework that underpins every action we take.
- Community-Centered Growth: We firmly believe that authentic growth arises from uplifting and supporting every individual within our community. By fostering collaboration and working together, we create opportunities that truly benefit everyone.
- Sustainable Practices: Our commitment to sustainability is absolute and guides every facet of our operations. We tirelessly strive to protect our land and natural resources, ensuring that our activities leave a positive impact on the environment and contribute to the well-being of our customers.
- Resilience in Adversity: Born from the urgent need to rebuild after the Siege of Marawi and having navigated the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have cultivated a robust and adaptive spirit. We embrace adaptation, foster innovation, and persistently move forward, continually finding new avenues for growth even amidst difficult times.
- Empowerment through Fair Trade: We are deeply committed to promoting fair trade practices, wholeheartedly supporting our local farmers and artisans. This ensures that every product we meticulously produce delivers benefits not only to our valued members but also to our cherished consumers.
The Panamar Impact: Growing Together, Reaching Further
Our success is intrinsically linked to the prosperity we cultivate within our community. We are currently registered with the Cooperative Identification Number (CIN) 000001928, having been organized and registered on October 15, 2017, in Brgy. Camponga-Raya, Ganassi, Lanao del Sur.
- Present: Panamar Ko Ranao stands proudly as the lead organization within a cluster of five cooperatives and associations. Together, we collectively manage a substantial 100-hectare coconut supply base in the fertile lands of Lanao del Sur. We have successfully forged crucial market linkages with major national retailers, including Puregold Marawi, Gaisano Mall Iligan City, and Robinsons Supermarket Iligan City, secured through marketing and buy-back agreements. We also maintain a strong presence in local markets like Ganassi Public Market and Marantao Balindong Public Market, ensuring direct access to our high-quality, locally sourced products for our community. Our current business activities involve the manual production and local marketing of coconut-derived food and non-food products. In 2024 alone, we proudly allocated over PhP 101,000 for distribution to our members through interest on share capital and patronage refunds, directly rewarding their vital contributions to our collective success.
- Future: We are embarking on an ambitious journey with a proposed enterprise focused on Integrated Coconut Production and Processing. This significant initiative, with a total project cost of PhP 12 million, aims to establish a fully integrated coconut production and processing facility. This expansion is poised to scale our operations for national and international markets, targeting Asian, European, and North American regions with high demand for natural and organic products. Our goal is to achieve product certifications, such as organic and Halal, which will broaden market access and formally validate our commitment to the highest standards of quality, purity, and ethical production.
Our People: The Heart of Panamar Ko Ranao
Our success is a direct reflection of our people – the dedicated individuals who are the very essence of our cooperative. We are a vibrant community of 127 members. The vast majority, 90 of our members, are skilled coconut planters, serving as the stewards of the land from which our high-quality products originate. Our diverse membership also embraces livestock growers, drivers, and beneficiaries of various community programs, reflecting our deep and integral roots within the social and economic fabric of Lanao del Sur.
This collective strength and shared vision drive our daily operations and future aspirations. Our organizational structure includes a Board of Directors responsible for strategic decision-making and governance, and a Management Team, led by the General Manager (who is also the Chairman), overseeing daily operations. Key operational departments include Production, Marketing and Sales, Human Resources, Finance, and Research and Development, all working in synergy to deliver our value proposition.
