GANASSI, LANAO DEL SUR – For Panamar Ko Ranao Marketing Cooperative, success is measured not only by sales but by the well-being of the community it calls home. A core part of the cooperative’s identity is its commitment to giving back, a principle formalized through statutory funds mandated by Republic Act 9520.
A prime example is the cooperative’s Community Development Fund (CDF), to which a portion of the annual net surplus is allocated for projects that benefit the wider community. In March 2024, this fund was put into action to organize and support a community-wide Clean-up Drive in Ganassi, bringing residents together to promote environmental stewardship and civic pride.
“Our purpose has always been to uplift the entire community,” said Vice-Chairman Khalid M. Dipatuan. “The Community Development Fund allows us to translate our financial success into tangible, positive actions that everyone can see and feel. It’s about shared prosperity in its truest form.”
This commitment to social and educational progress is a cornerstone of the cooperative’s structure. Beyond the CDF, the cooperative also allocates funds for local infrastructure improvements through its Optional Fund and invests in its members’ professional growth through a dedicated Cooperative Education and Training Fund.
These initiatives demonstrate that supporting Panamar Ko Ranao is an investment in the holistic development of Lanao del Sur, proving that a thriving business can and should be a powerful force for community good.
